Val has 30 years experience in Banking. As a Senior Corporate Manager, this experience included the management of corporate client relationships and National credit control, responsibility for lending to the Housing Association Sector.
Upon taking early retirement from her banking career, she adapted her skills to a regulatory role with The Housing Corporation. Val also has previous experience of being a board member of a BME Housing Association based in Leicester.
With her background in financial, regulatory and governance aspects of the housing association sector, Val believes she can effectively contribute to the management and development of social housing in the Harborough district.
Professor Janet Ford is due to retire in the summer as Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of York.
Her skills include developing and delivering courses on housing policy; special responsibility for the estate and strategic projects; budget setting and monitoring.
Her role has also meant she has worked closely with the National Housing Federation and Central Government Departments.
Tristan has worked primarily in the public sector before joining Wilson Browne Solicitors in 2010. After completing an LLB in Law with Business Studies at the University of Wales in Bangor, Tristan worked for the Cabinet Office as Acting Head of Communications for the Government I.T Profession. In 2009 he completed the Legal Practice Course at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice before being appointed Head of Law at Roade College in Northamptonshire. Tristan has also worked for Her Majesty's Courts Service and the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass).
Whilst writing his thesis on the major House of Lords and Court of Appeal immigration matter involving retired British Army Gurkhas, Tristan worked hands on with the legal team behind the Gurkhas plight in a case which was resolved when the UK Government changed the law to allow Gurkhas that retired before 1997 the right to settle in United Kingdom.
Tristan was elected in May 2011 to serve as a Councillor for Swift Ward on the Lutterworth Town Council.
Stewart, now retired and living in Fleckney, served in the armed Forces for 16 years before joining the Prison Service where he was a Prison Officer for 14 years. After gaining a Masters degree in Forensic Psychology, Stewart became the Head of Personnel and Training at HMP Whitemoor. As a Board member at Seven Locks Housing, he is committed to ensuring we continually improve the standard of affordable homes.
Paul is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has lived in Kibworth with his family for over 20 years. He started his working life in Local Government finance and has also spent over twenty years' in the role of Finance Director for two East Midland based Building Societies until he retired in 2008. Paul is currently a Non Executive Director of a small regional Building Society in Leicestershire. He brings extensive financial and commercial business knowledge and experience to the Group.
Graham is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and is a qualified Housing Director. He has a Masters Degree in Housing and has worked within Local Authorities in many different roles and as Executive Director in a local Housing Association until early retirement in 2007.
Graham is a member of Gideon's International and is a volunteer prison chaplain. Day by Day, he manages a Christian Spirituality Centre and residential conference centre in Sheffield.
Until recently Graham was a Non-Executive Director with Homezone Housing (7years) and Bromford Support Board (2 years). Graham is married with three grown up children and lives in Derbyshire.
Michael has over 12 years experience working in the public sector, in a number of roles carrying out feasibility, surveying, design, contract management and supervision on a range of highway and civil engineering infrastructure schemes. Previous to this Michael worked on opencast and reclamation sites across the country as a site engineer.
His current role is Highway Assets Manager for Nottinghamshire County Council. Responsibilities include the management, implementation and development of the authorities Highway Asset Management System. Production and development of a Transport Asset Management Plan and leading up on the implementation of Asset Valuation for all highway assets across Nottinghamshire. The role is also the specialist in Pavement Management and get involves with surveys, performance management, budget allocation and agreeing capital work programmes.
Academic qualifications include a HNC and BENg (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University (2002 and 2004) and an MSc in Road Management and Engineering from the University of Birmingham (2004).
